Andorra is one of the safest countries in the world, with one of the lowest crime rates on the planet. In addition, its character and peaceful identity are demonstrated in the fact that it has never had an army or war on its territory in more than 700 years of uninterrupted history.

It is therefore a neutral and welcoming country where citizens of more than 100 different nationalities and religions live peacefully, with the cultural richness that this entails. Among these nationalities, in addition to Andorrans, Spaniards, French, Portuguese, British, Germans and Dutch stand out.

The official language of the Principality of Andorra is Catalan, but most Andorrans also speak Spanish, French and English, as the Andorran education system reflects the geographical location of the country. Andorra's proximity to Spain and France and an increase in English-speaking tourists means that schools prioritise language teaching from an early age. In addition, you will find private schools that offer a fully immersive bilingual educational program that is taught in Spanish and English. In Andorra there are more than thirty language schools that offer traditional classes, as well as private courses that take place at home with online learning options.

Moderate cost of living

In Andorra, in general, the cost of housing, education, healthcare, transport and shopping are not very high, being similar to those of its surroundings, a fact that makes Andorra an affordable destination to start a new life.

Andorra has the Euro as legal tender, which allows it to benefit from one of the most important and stable currencies in the world. Likewise, its average monthly salary of €2,078.42 stands out from those of its surroundings, allowing the inhabitants of Andorra to maintain a high standard of living, with a per capita income of €36,335.

In addition, with an employment rate of almost 80%, the country is a good destination to find a job that allows its inhabitants to grow and develop professionally and personally.

The Andorran economy

Andorra is a country in a process of marked economic openness, with no limit on foreign investment and negative inflation of -0.2% in 2020 (1% in 2019).

Due to the above, and the solvent Andorran economy, the rating agencies Fitch and Standard & Poor's give Andorra ratings of BBB+ and BBB, both with a stable outlook.

The Principality received 8.2 million visitors in 2019, of which 3.1 million were tourists and 5.1 were hikers.

Quality of life

Andorra's climate is Mediterranean, so the country has four seasons with many sunny days, even in winter.

Likewise, the air quality is optimal 91% of the days, with more than 2,000 hours of sunshine per year. In addition to the above, the territory of Andorra is very privileged, with more than 90% of it occupied by mountains, forests, rivers and lakes, which can be explored thanks to more than 60 mountain paths.

World Heritage Site

Packed with Romanesque art, 10% of Andorra's territory is recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site and, currently, we are working to become the first country to be considered in its entirety as a World Biosphere Reserve.
